What to listen for
Remember that in all of our communications we are always trying to present the myriad of possibilities and urge people into action. Here ares a few things to look out for when selecting music tracks:
A driving beat to give it a sense of purpose
A sense of pace that crescendos to help build
the story
Optimism to make you feel good about the
possibilities
Using foley
We’ve mixed some foley into our main track. This is timed to our animation and adds emphasis to the physicality of the elements. It also hints at the use of online elements—these come in the forms of clicks, keyboard strokes and computer beeps. We’ve also added sounds such as the tick of the wheel to round out the audio.
When choosing accompanying foley remember that
it isn’t the hero but a really good wingman. It helps
to round out the story and should be added in time to the visuals. It should help to reinforce that we are 100% digital, so be sure to draw from experiences and sounds that signal this.
Proprietary music and sound signature brief
To have a recognisable audio tune for TV and radio
is one of our long term goals. We’ve created a music and sound signature brief to provide a sound designer when the time is right.
With a name like Harmoney, having music is a must. We’re always looking for music with an optimistic, driving and purposeful beat.
